Sala Evolution

The Sala lies at the heart of Forest Dhamma’s monastic community activities, which include gathering there for chanting and meditation, eating the daily meal, teaching Dhamma lessons and receiving visitors.

Monastery Development

The monastery’s appearance today is a result of the sacrifices of a community of monks and lay volunteers who labored with devotion and attention to detail throughout the monastery’s construction phase.

Special Ceremonies

This gallery traces the monastery’s annual ceremonies from the early stages, when space was scarce and arrangements were makeshift, through progressively more spacious accommodations until the main Sala hall came into use.
